The Times to Send settings let you control when update email is sent to users with subscriptions.
When users subscribe for update email, they are presented with three choices for the frequency of when they will receive notification email: within a few minutes, once a day, and once a week. Although users can only toggle between these three options, the Office-extended server administrator can specify the definition of within a few minutes, once a day, and once a week for the Office-extended server. Users cannot see, nor adjust the within a few minutes, once a day, and once a week values the administrator has configured.
Within a few minutes
Use the Within a few minutes field to specify the minute interval at which users with subscriptions defined as within a few minutes will receive update email. Type a number of minutes. At the interval you specify, the Office-extended server will gather all the changes that occurred since the last interval and match the type configured in the subscription (document modified, discussion item added, etc.) and send them as one update email to subscribers of within a few minutes subscriptions.
To ease the burden of sending update email on your Office-extended server and mail server and to prevent users from receiving excessive update email, consider increasing the time interval for within a few minutes.
Once a day
Use the Once a day field to specify the time of day at which users with subscriptions defined as once a day will receive update email. Type an hour and minute and choose AM or PM. At the time of day you specify, the Office-extended server will gather all the changes that occurred within the last day and match the type configured in the subscription (document modified, discussion item added, etc.) and send them as one update email to the subscribers of once a day subscriptions.
Once a Week
Use the Once a week field to specify the day of the week and time of that day at which users with subscriptions defined as once a week will receive update email. Select a day of the week, type an hour and minute, and choose AM or PM. On the day and time you specify, the Office-extended server will gather all the changes that occurred within the last week and match the type configured in the subscription (document modified, discussion item added, etc.) and send them as one update email to the subscribers of once a week subscriptions.
