Discussions are stored separately from your Web page. What browser do I need to add discussions to a Web page?
You can use the Discussions feature with most browsers, although it works best when you use Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4 or later and have Microsoft Office 2000 installed. (You start a discussion in Internet Explorer 4 by clicking the View menu, pointing to Explorer Bar, and then clicking Discussions.) If you're using an earlier version of Internet Explorer, or another browser (such as Netscape Navigator version 3.0 or later), you must use the Microsoft Office Server Extensions start page to add discussion remarks to a Web page. If you use Internet Explorer 4 or later and you don't have Office 2000 installed, you must use the Office Server Extensions start page to access the Discussions feature. To access the Office Server Extensions start page from your browser, type http:/ /ServerName/MSOffice/ in the Address box, where ServerName is a Web server you can save files to. See your system administrator for the name of a Web server you can save files to.
When you connect to a Web page from the Office Server Extensions start page, no matter what browser you're using, the Discussions toolbar that appears will look different from the one that appears when you start a discussion from within Internet Explorer 4 or later.
